METRO announces partnership with San Francisco-based Getaround for car-sharing service

On Thursday, Metro announced a partnership with San Francisco-based Getaround to offer an affordable and hassle-free carsharing service at more than 25 busy Metro transit park-and-ride lots throughout LA -- helping riders complete their first-mile and last-mile connections.

Getaround allows people to instantly rent and drive cars owned by people in their city. The company takes a unique approach to the traditional carsharing concept by utilizing personally-owned and third-party vehicles.

This partnership is to help riders travel from their Metro station to their destination while offering other Metro riders, whose cars go unused, an opportunity to make a little cash on the side.
