Placing your garbage cans out too early and leaving them on the street too long violates the LA Municipal Code.  Here are the official rules:

  • Cans cannot be on the street before 6 pm Tuesday.

  • Cans must be on the street by 6 am Wednesday.

  • Cans must be off the street by 8 pm Wednesday.

Please do not store garbage cans permanently on the street.  They should be on your property.

Exception is if a bin repair or replacement has been scheduled with LA Sanitation.
